Sewer-Related Riverfest Traffic Mess

Much of the water work is done. Now, sewer work is starting for much of the 2nd Street repair project downtown. Alan Borsch from City Hall tells the board of public works that sewer improvements from Vine Street north to La Crosse Street are starting today, and the utility work should be done by the second week of July. The actual reconstruction of 2nd Street will last for another month after that. While the intersection of 2nd and Vine will remain open for cross traffic, State Street will be blocked between Front and 2nd during Riverfest, because of the hotel project at the former Ross building.
