With pothole season wrapping up, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced that construction season in La Crosse is beginning next week.

South Avenue, between Green Bay Street and Ward Avenue, will be getting its roundabout.

Monday, crews will be out there marking pavement on South Ave, between Green Bay Street and Ward Avenue,

Thursday, the road will be down to one lane.

Temporary signals will go up at West and Ward avenues, as well as 16th Street.

The project isn’t expected to be done until fall.

It’s one of three planned roundabouts in that area — not counting the ones that went up way on the south side of La Crosse.

Back in November of 2021, the DOT said construction for those roundabouts would cost an estimated $11 million.

The two roundabouts just south of the Highway 35-US 14/61 intersection cost around $8.8 million.

The brilliant parasitic bureaucrats put up a sign saying road work starts on March 6. But they closed 2 lanes and started work a week before that. Idiots! Why do we give these retards so much of our earnings when they prove every day that they are corrupt and incompetent?

It would be nice if all the roads were named on the maps.
