Kind Leads Action on VA

Problems at the Tomah V-A Medical Center and other facilities for veterans have led a local Congressman to introduce a new reform bill in the House.  La Crosse’s Ron Kind wants to amend the ‘Inspector General Act,’ requiring that office to supply reports on its investigations to certain Congressional committees, and to any federal lawmaker who wants them.  Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin have introduced similar bills.  The feds have been criticized for doing nothing about overprescription of drugs and other trouble at the Tomah V-A for several months after a report was issued.
