Cause Of Winona Fire May Never Be Known

The cause of a tavern fire in Winona apparently will remain unknown.  The Minnesota state fire marshal says it cannot determine how the fire at the Mason Jar bar started.  The February fire gutted the bar and some upstairs apartments, leaving the historic downtown building without a roof.  Just this week, the Winona city council voted to seek a state grant to help preserve and repair the building.
