Name Released In Weekend Traffic Death

The name of a Sparta man killed in a one car crash over the weekend has been

released. Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins says 26 year old Ryan Johnson of Sparta died when he lost control of his car Friday night and slammed into a tree on Highway 71 near Little Falls.

 

 

His passenger, 22 year old Channing Mathews also of Sparta, was flown to Gundersen with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

 

Perkins says both men were partially ejected from the car. The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
