City Trails Get A Facelift

While La Crosse’s Hixon Forest trails might be closed for now, more trails

will be under construction.  Crews are beginning work on new trails to go around the part of the city’s Forest Hills golf course that’s extending into the forest as part of the course expansion

City rec coordinator, Jay Odegaard.  The 13th and 14th hole of Forest Hills are getting extended into the forest as part of the reconfiguration of the course, necessary with the addition of a second set of Burlington Northern railroad tracks.  The Hixon Forest trails were closed Monday to prevent damage from overuse in their soggy condition.
