Houston County Frac Vote Today
It seems they can’t put off the vote any longer.
Members of the Houston County Board have to vote today on a possible frac sand ban, before a county moratorium against the industry expires on Thursday. Foes of silica sand mining are making a final push for their side. Dr. Ron Evanson, the former mayor of Houston, is trying to preserve the county as a ‘pristine’ place to live:
Other opponents argue that the board would be going against the will of a majority in Houston County that wants the mining banned permanently.
