Nelson Likes Ingredients Of Accountability Bill

A bill being circulated by Senators Chris Larson and Nikiya Harris Dodd,

includes common sense reforms such as checks for teachers and administrators, require graduation standards, require licensed teachers and to require open records law compliance. Some pretty strong pieces according to La Crosse District head, Randy Nelson.

The Assembly package would also give letter grades for school performance, and convert failing public schools to independent charter schools. A public hearing will be held Wednesday on the school package.
