Rail Problems Found And Fixed In La Crosse County Survey
The railroad tracks that run through La Crosse County appear to be pretty safe…
A consulting firm from the Twin Cities has given a partial report to the county board on its survey of local railroad safety. Andy Mielke (milky) of the S-R-F company says inspectors have checked out the BNSF tracks several times in recent months…often checking the same spots on two or three occasions. And he says some problems were found:
But Mielke says that every defect the inspectors pointed out had been fixed by the next time an inspection was done. The study was requested because of concerns about rail accidents leading to hazardous spills or explosions in other places.
