Park Plaza Interest

A long-vacant piece of land near downtown La Crosse is getting new

attention. Near the pike between La Crosse and La Crescent, the Park Plaza land is the object of a new 600-thousand dollar purchase offer.  Tara Johnson, the La Crosse County Board chair, tells us the difference between the new offer and an 800-thousand dollar proposal that ran out earlier this year:

Johnson says the full county board won’t act on the new offer until sometime in January, at the soonest.  The new prospective buyers include the Hoeschler family, which used to own the Holiday Inn on that empty Barron Island lot.
