Former Department Head At UWL Claims He Was Reassigned For Opposing Nepotism

A complaint of nepotism against U-W-La Crosse…

It’s now a legal complaint filed with the state, by the university’s director of international education, Jay Lokken.  Make that ‘former’ director, because Lokken says he was forced out of that job and transferred to another post at U-W-L, for opposing a plan to bypass the normal hiring process to give a job to his supervisor’s wife.  Lokken says his supervisor and the university provost made threats of retaliation against him, if he interfered with the hiring plan.  Lokken’s discrimination complaint was filed this month with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.  The provost’s office at U-W-L has no comment on the complaint.
