Appeal Still Possible By Lax Landlords In Challenge Of Rental Rules

A La Crosse judge has denied a legal challenge from a group of landlords to a city rental ordinance. The city council already voted this month to change the ordinance, to make it more acceptable to landlords. The attorney for the property owners, Bernardo Cueto (KWEH-toh), argued that the original ordinance was unconstitutional and placed burdens on landlords:
Cueto says he has about 20 days to decide whether to appeal Judge Scott Horne’s ruling on the lawsuit.
