Former Sparta Man Dies In Bangor Crash

A 23 year old area man is dead after a weekend crash in the town of Bangor near Rockland Saturday morning.

23 year old Tyler Elsen of Virginia, Minnesota, originally from Sparta, was driving a truck Saturday when he swerved from the west side of the road to the east side of the road. The truck went into a ditch, jumped a creek, and struck a tree, which ejected Elsen from the truck. La Crosse County Medical Examiner Tim Candahl said he doesn’t know what caused Elsen to swerve across the road. Elsen died at the scene.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
