District Closer To Selling Roosevelt School

Monday night, the La Crosse School District revealed who the parties are that want to buy the Roosevelt School in La Crosse.    Impact Seven offered to purchase the site with plans to convert the building into a senior housing facility and build up to 20 town homes . Commonwealth Development offered to purchase the site and would convert Roosevelt into a 32 unit apartment building and build 12 town homes along Palace Street, with 15 percent of new housing reserved for homeless veterans.  Gorman and Company has plans to convert the Roosevelt building into an apartment building with 23 units.  The school board will now interview the three developers and should have a closer answer as to what will become of the school building at the August 4th board meeting.
