Want A Parklet! It Could Cost You 200 Bucks

Converting a curbside parking space to a mini-park will cost La Crosse businesses a little money…

Probably 200 dollars for the first year, if the idea is okayed by the La Crosse city council.  A 500 dollar fee was proposed at a committee meeting last night.  Council member David Krump said he’s not against charging 500 dollars for a parklet…but thinks that’s too high for starting the program:

As many as five parking stalls downtown could be filled with ‘parklets’…special platforms to provide extra seating outdoors during warm weather.
