Chase Leaves One Dead Near Holmen

It started in downtown la Crosse and ended on Highway 35 and OT this morning.

The end result, one dead and one hurt after a high speed crash turned deadly. And that stretch of road re-opened around 6:30 this morning.

 

La Crosse police tried to pull over a car reported stolen just after 1 a.m. this morning. The driver took off, and headed north on Highway 35 toward Holmen. Police tells us that two people were in the stolen car when it rear-ended another car, then rolled over near the Highway 53 interchange.

 

The passenger in the stolen car was killed. The driver was taken the hospital with unknown injuries. Police say the person who was killed was not from our area. The two people in the other car were not.
