Aspirin A Day May Not Be The Best Way
An aspirin a day keeps heart attacks away or so it goes. According to the
U.S. Food and Drug Administration that may not be of any value or benefit. German drug maker Bayer wants to change the labeling on aspirin bottles to show it’s value in preventing heart attacks. Not a great idea says the FDA and Gunderson Health System Dr. Paul Schoenfeld.
Schoenfeld tells us that such aspirin therapy reduces the clumping action of the blood’s clotting cells and may prevent a heart attack. But he also warns that there may be serious side effects from daily use of aspirin, including internal bleeding.
