The 8th annual Rotary iFeed is back from 8 a.m. – noon Saturday at La Crosse’s Logan High School.

It’s a seven-school, community-wide food drive and meal packing event.

This year, proceeds will, once again, go to the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse and teams will be packing 80,000 meals to be sent overseas.

The Rotary Interact Clubs from seven local high schools (Aquinas, Caledonia, Central, Holmen, Logan, Onalaska and West Salem) and their Rotarian advisors organize the event.

iFeed has two parts.

The first involves community teams packing highly nutritious, vitamin-fortified soy-rice meals in assembly- line fashion for international distribution.

The second involves collecting nonperishable food items in the weeks leading up to iFeed, then bringing the collections to Logan High on the day of the event.

The food items are then counted, sorted and trucked to the Hunger Task Force, where it’s distributed to Coulee Region food banks.

Saturday, community members are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to Logan High School or just come watch the meal packers in action.
