Six hurt in five-vehicle crash near Fountain City
FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. — A crash involving five vehicles on Highway 35 has led to six people being injured Wednesday in Buffalo County.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said a southbound vehicle crossed the center line near at Park Street, north of Fountain City shortly after noon. That driver hit a northbound vehicle head-on, causing three other vehicles to crash.
Two hurt in the accident were airlifted to hospitals, while four others were taken from the scene by ambulance.
Both lanes of the highway were closed for a few hours after the crash. Investigators are still looking into why the first vehicle changed lanes.
