An invasive insect and a popular Wisconsin comedian were hot topics for people who visited the WIZM News webpage in 2022.

An analysis of searches to the website showed that the most-searched single topic, with over 14,000 hits, was the July discovery that a bug called the spotted lanternfly had arrived in Iowa.

Next on the list was a WIZM interview with comedian Charlie Berens, where he compared a large new Kwik Trip in La Crosse to the Taj Mahal.  That was followed by the December accident in Hokah, where a truck crashed into a brick home during bad weather.

An apparent murder-suicide of a couple in Coon Valley last June ranked high in the searches.  The top 10 also includes news related to Miss Wisconsin being named Miss America in December.
