Lines are long waiting to get into festgrounds; technical problems blamed

The usual Friday festivities during Oktoberfest have been delayed because of tech trouble which is keeping security from scanning passes into the southside festgrounds.

Lines a block or two long to the north and south of the main gate have been waiting to get in since before 11 a.m., with several people deciding to leave for now. Police officials arrived at the scene to see if they could help solve the problem.

The Friday of fest usually features the Tapping of the Golden Keg around 11 a.m.

Brad Williams
