The La Crosse Public Library is hosting its first ever No Run Fun Run Fundraiser. (Yes, you read that right. No Running!)

The No Run Fun Run Fundraiser takes place Saturday, August 20, in the Main Library’s parking lot at 800 Main Street from 4-7 p.m.

“We’re putting a spin on the traditional Fun Run fundraiser to make it more accessible for all ages and abilities, Adult Programming and Volunteer Coordinator, Heather Miller told Z93. “There will be absolutely no running at our event, just come and have fun and enjoy crafts, activities, food, music and explore our new creation space.”

The Creation Space is one of the new initiatives at the library. “We’re trying to make creativity more accessible for everyone in the community,” Miller explained. “We’ll have things like sewing machines, 3-D printers, and silhouettes.” The other new initiative is their Tool Library, trying to help folks save costs on expensive tools. Many tools are only used once or twice a year, so the library has tools that community members can check out for home maintenance projects.

The public can check out the new spaces as part of the event.

Registered “runners” will experience all the fun of a run, with a commemorative t-shirt and a finish line celebration, all without breaking a sweat. The no-runners can pre-register to get their shirt for just $25 through August 9 HERE.

If you’re unable to register, the event is completely free to attend. Attendees can still donate at the event itself and a portion of the proceeds raised from the food truck funds will support the library as well.
