Dispute at La Crosse Mexican restaurant leads to a “queso” disorderly conduct

A customer complaint at a downtown Mexican restaurant reportedly became physical, and a bit messy, leading to an arrest by La Crosse police.

India James of Onalaska is accused of disorderly conduct and bail jumping. During a court appearance by James on Monday, Judge Gloria Doyle ordered a signature bond, and told her to have no contact with the Qdoba restaurant on 3rd Street.

City police said that last week, James argued with an employee at the Qdoba counter, demanding a refund for burnt chips. She reportedly became more upset as the employee helped other customers.

Right after James was given the refund, she reportedly threw a cup of queso at the worker’s face and shirt, and eventually drove away before police arrived.

Officers saw James downtown again early Sunday morning, and questioned her about the incident. James said she remembered being at the restaurant, but claimed she didn’t know why she was being charged.

This is minor this isn’t a perfect world ppl are allowed to get upset throwing a empty cup is childish not criminal the proper charge was assembled there’s no need to keep the jails full on such a minor charge

Yeah, let’s keep her jail for a year awaiting trial then send her to prison for the maximum allotted time for her crime. That will rid the streets of these monsters. That will show them how tough on crime we are. Get a grip Kent

Many of our judges are soft on crime and let drug dealers & thugs get away with a slap on the wrist.
It’s been this way for too many years and that’s why we have big crime/drug problems in La Crosse.
