As I See It

Some behavior can’t be ignored

Perhaps people liked Donald Trump as a presidential candidate because he was not a typical politician. Or because he wasn’t Hillary. Perhaps you agreed with his politics and thought his policies were good for this country. Perhaps you thought he was treated unfairly by the media. I understand that. But what I can’t understand is how Donald Trump remains revered by so many after what happened on January 6. According to testimony before the January 6 committee, much of it from Republicans, Trump was relentless in his efforts to subvert the will of the American people to remain in power. We have heard first-hand accounts of how Trump as a sitting President sought to overturn a lawful election and stirred up a mob that led to an attack on the U.S. Capitol. Despite being told repeatedly that he lost the election by the likes of his campaign manager and Attorney General, Trump tried to convince the Vice-President to overturn the certified election results, then suggested Mike Pence should be hung when he refused his commands. Trump reportedly knew his supporters were carrying weapons when he attacked the Capitol, but wanted metal detectors removed because they weren’t coming after him. He wanted to lead the mob toward the Capitol and when told he couldn’t, physically assaulted a member of his Secret Service. As a result of actions by the President our democracy was teetering on the brink that day. And if we don’t condemn that, then were at great risk of it happening again.

You may want to try to stay abreast of the current news. Most of the evidence presented by the last surprise witness has been proven to be false. So if you are the Program Director and NEWS Director you might went to think about getting a different job!

Shaw, you need to check your facts before you write your commentary. Some of the things you have presented are not accurate and you are contributing to the media who treated President Trump unfairly. The riot that happened on January 6th was a terrible thing but President Trump did not order the riot or even have anything to do with the riot. It would behoove the entire nation and your listeners if media people like you stop lying to make the big bad monster seem like a horrible person.
