Just a couple days of class left in La Crosse before the city’s public schools go on holiday break.

The district vacation starts Dec. 23. Classes resume on Jan. 3.

The La Crosse School Board celebrated the season Monday night with music from the Lincoln Middle School Holiday Brass — a Christmas tradition for the board for over 10 years, according to music teacher Jason Harden.

The students performed “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” at the start of the school board meeting.

Harden said the brass and other musicians from his school had the chance to perform when Gov. Tony Evers lit up the state Christmas tree this month.

Lincoln students have also performed live at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park this season.
