After “serious threat” shuts down school, Central High back in class Friday

All clear at Central High School in La Crosse for students and staff to return on Friday, after a “serious threat” caused it to close Thursday.

A note posted on the Central High School website homepage (shown below) — but not on its social media or the district social media or its homepage — indicates that school was shut down because a student made some type of threat over email at the school.

The note ads that the threat to student safety has been resolved, though the investigation will continue.

Just a few weeks ago Winona Senior High School was investigated after a Snapchat screenshot mentioned shooting up a school. The school mentioned in the screenshot was “Central High School” but it had been deemed a hoax by both Winona and La Crosse police.
