La Crosse under 20 COVID-19 cases in a day for 3rd time this week

Another 17 cases Thursday of COVID-19 in La Crosse County.

La Crosse has been under 20 cases three times this month, all in the past five days. The county was never under 20 in January.

La Crosse is averaging 21.9 cases a day the past week. Last week, including a day with 144 cases, that average was 52. Without that 144 day, the average is 36, so the county is still 15 cases lower this week.


Here’s a look at new cases, the average cases the past week, total and active cases, as well as current hospitalizations Thursday:

Statewide, Wisconsin was over 1,000 cases for the first time in the past six days (chart at bottom of story), but the daily average is down about 300 from last week.

Minnesota has gone five consecutive days under 1,000 cases, which hasn’t happened since mid-September.

Iowa has had 89 COVID deaths in the past three days, averaging more than Wisconsin and Minnesota over the past week.
