While congressional candidate Derrick Van Orden said his name was used without permission in a lawsuit seeking to overturn Wisconsin’s general election, La Crosse County Republican Party chair Bill Feehan confirmed Wednesday morning on WIZM that he is part of the lawsuit.

It was filed Tuesday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin’s federal court, by ousted Donald Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, alleging fraud in the general election.

Van Orden, the Republican who lost a close race to Ron Kind for the Third Congressional District, said Tuesday he learned through social media his name was included in the lawsuit, but his name was used without his permission.

“I am not involved in the lawsuit seeking to overturn the election in Wisconsin,” Van Orden wrote on Twitter.

As for Powell, current Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis had put out a statement last week saying “Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”

Of course, a week before that, Trump was praising Powell, Giuliani and others as part of the “great team” of lawyers, the president wrote on Twitter.
