COVID-19 deaths Friday out of La Crosse, Winona and Houston counties.

For La Crosse, it’s the 34th death overall — 12th this month and 29th since Oct. 1.

It’s Winona’s fifth death since Nov. 9, and 29th overall. The person was between 80-84 years old.

In Houston, there were two deaths reported — the first since Oct. 22 — bringing the total to four. The people were aged 85-89 and 90-94.

La Crosse also added another 52 cases and six more county residents were hospitalized since Wednesday. There have been 242 county residents hospitalized in total — 102 of those this month.

The county’s positivity rate for those tested is now 31.3% over the past week, when La Crosse has been averaging 120.3 cases a day.

Winona’s averaging 47.1 cases a day over the past week after adding a single-day high 85 cases Friday. Houston’s at 11.9 cases a day, after there were 13 new cases reported.

Statewide, Wisconsin added 1,300 cases, 57 hospitalizations and 17 deaths. It’s the first time the state has reported less than 1,500 cases since Sept. 21.

After not reporting data Thursday, Minnesota reported 5,704 cases, 277 hospitalizations and a single-day high 101 deaths.

The update is not an addition to the state not reporting data Thursday. That update will actually come out Saturday, with two day’s worth of data.

*The number of cases for La Crosse County has been corrected to 52.
