La Crosse adds 18 more cases, Wisconsin sets another daily high

Another 18 cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County reported Tuesday— 12 of those are people in their 20s, one is aged 15 to 19.

Four of the positives are from Friday’s National Guard testing site. Four are known to be hospitalized — that number has stayed the same the past couple days.

The county has now had a total of 611 cases — 484 since June 16, which was the first of 11 consecutive days with 20 or more cases. In the 18 days since that run, the county has been over 20 cases twice but over 15 case nine times.

In surrounding counties, Trempealeau added seven more positives and is now at 195 total … 51 still active.

Vernon and Buffalo each added one case. Vernon’s at 40. Buffalo is at 16. Winona added two cases and is now at 135. Houston remains at 32.

Meanwhile, statewide, a new single-day high in COVID-19 cases for the fourth time in the past six days in Wisconsin.

Today, the state reported 964 new cases, along with 42 hospitalizations and six deaths.

In Minnesota, six deaths, 403 cases were reported Tuesday.
