La Crosse reports another 17 COVID-19 cases, closing in on 500 mark

Another 17 new COVID-19 cases in La Crosse County were reported Thursday.

That brings the total to 482 cases, 430 of those have come since June 1. Two are known to be in the hospital, while nobody from the county has died from the virus.

The county health department also added more businesses to its risk calendar, with dates between June 19-27. Five businesses are now considered high risk, 11 medium risk and and 19 low risk. Those businesses can be found clicking here. To see dates on a mobile device, scroll right.

In surrounding counties, Trempealeau has gone back-to-back days with five new cases and is now at 128 total, with 101 considered recovered. Vernon County added one to its now 38 total. Winona (120 total) and Houston (25) each reported one new cases. Buffalo (8) reported zero cases.

Wisconsin: 29,738 cases, 793 deaths
Minnesota: 37,210 cases, 1,458 deaths
Iowa: 30,259 cases, 719 deaths


Statewide, Wisconsin reported another 539 cases and seven deaths. The state has reported over 500 cases five of the past seven days.

Minnesota reported exactly 500 new cases and 13 deaths. The state has averaged 9.45 deaths since remaining under 20 in a day for the past 20 days. Before that, Minnesota averaged 21.4 deaths from April 23 to June 12.

Iowa shows 676 new cases and zero deaths over a 24-hour period that began at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
