July “Moon Tunes” shows are called off

The schedule of possible Moon Tunes concerts in La Crosse for 2020 is rapidly shrinking. 

In a normal summer, there would be live concerts at Riverside Park every Thursday for three months. 

But Moon Tunes organizer Terry Bauer says it’s now down to one month, saying that July shows have been called off. 

A sudden spike in coronavirus cases in La Crosse County is the main reason. 

One bit of positive news: Bauer says the new bandshell is just about finished.    

In at least one recent year, several Moon Tunes shows were cancelled on short notice due to stormy weather happening to occur on Thursday nights.  

The Thursday night series usually runs from June to early September, and Bauer says another virtual Moon Tunes concert will be on-line two weeks from now, on June 25th.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
