La Crosse City Hall reopens with lobby service
La Crosse’s City Hall is open to the public again, but the lobby is more crowded than you might remember.
After being closed to most visitors for two months because of Covid-19, the building re-opened Tuesday morning with several service tables set up on the 1st floor.
That was done to prevent non-employees from going to the main department offices on the upper floors.
Visitors will need special passes to take the elevators, for now.
The city treasurer’s table reportedly was the busiest during the first couple of hours in business.
The new City Hall hours are 8 am to 1 pm, Monday through Thursday.
A sign on the door says the maximum occupancy in the lobby is 27 people.
