Minnesota sees single-day high cases, deaths; La Crosse, surrounding counties report no new cases

No new COVID-19 cases reported in La Crosse or Winona counties on Wednesday.

La Crosse remains at 33 and Winona has 68 total cases — along with 15 deaths. Late Tuesday, both Vernon and Trempealeau counties reported one more case each. Trempealeau now has five and Vernon has two.


Totals in Wisconsin: 362 deaths, 8,901 cases.
Totals in Minnesota: 485 deaths, 8,579 cases.
Totals in Iowa: 219 deaths, 10,404 cases.


In Wisconsin, there were another nine deaths and 335 new cases — the third most the state has reported in a single day.

Minnesota reported its most deaths in a single day today at 30. The state has had over 20 deaths six of the past seven days.

Minnesota also set a single-day high in new cases at 728 — 111 more than the previous high, set Tuesday.

No new cases were added Wednesday in Houston or Fillmore counties.

Iowa reported 12 deaths and 293 cases today.
