There was one more case to add to the COVID-19 total at Monday’s press conference with La Crosse County Health Department, bringing the total to 23.

It is a man in his mid 40s experiencing mild to moderate symptoms.

The department says they’re not sure of a travel history yet.

Statewide, Wisconsin saw a jump of 173 cases from yesterday and 44 new hospitalizations and 9 more deaths.

La Crosse County Health Director Jen Rombalski also announced a closure of all campgrounds.

Rombalski says there are concerns about drawing people from outside of the county which could increase the spread.

It would also encourage non-essential travel, and common areas like bathrooms pose a risk as well.

The ban will coincide with Governor Tony Evers stay at home order
