There are more than 1,200 cases of Coronavirus in Wisconsin as of Monday.

That’s over 200 more than Saturday afternoon’s total.

In La Crosse County, two more cases have been confirmed in the last two days, bringing the total 17.

The latest case involves a woman in her 70s, who is hospitalized experiencing severe symptoms. She is the first of those 17 to be hospitalized.

Also, of those 17, nine patients from La Crosse County have recovered and are considered free from isolation.

Health Director Jen Rombalski said now is not the time to be complacent, and more cases are expected.

She added in a press conference that the county needs to be patient, as the peak of the disease likely won’t be for another month and possibly into May.
