Biden, my time? That’s the kinda guy Heim thinks could win
Wisconsin might still have some influence in the primary process this year, as a result of the Super Tuesday voting.
That’s the feeling of UW-L political scientist Joe Heim, after Joe Biden’s comeback in Minnesota and other states.
Heim says Biden was ‘virtually broke’ 10 days ago and almost out of the Democratic race, but it seems voters are having second thoughts about Bernie Sanders.
Early Wednesday morning on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk, Heim said Michael Bloomberg had been pledging to stay in the campaign.
But by late morning, Bloomberg had dropped out.
Heim predicts that Bloomberg voters will now switch to Joe Biden, as many Amy Klobuchar voters seem to have done.
The retired professor says the Wisconsin primary next month could still have some influence in the Democratic race, so he doesn’t see the state holding its primary earlier.
Wisconsin did try a February presidential primary in 2004 and 2008 before going back to the April date.
