Spring Grove man gets prison for $1M embezzlement

A Spring Grove, Minn., man is going to prison for fraud, after being convicted of embezzling from a southern Wisconsin business. 

Curtis Tarver was given a three-year prison term in federal court. 

Tarver was the chief financial officer for Rapid Die and Molding in Cassville, Wis., and for another company in Kentucky.  

The FBI and Cassville police said Tarver’s embezzlement scheme lasted 12 years (2006-2018), in which he would move money from the company bank account to his own accounts, write checks to himself and make personal purchases with company credit cards. 

Tarver reportedly took $1,023,000 from the companies, spending the money on travel, recreational vehicles and home improvements.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
