Wisconsin Dems to knock on doors, a year before election

Too late for trick or treat, but very early for election season.

Folks in La Crosse may find Democratic Party volunteers knocking on their doors this Saturday, promoting Democrats running in next year’s elections.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has a statewide canvass planned on Saturday, one year out from the 2020 presidential vote.

Seven cities have been chosen for door-to-door visits on Saturday.

While Governor Tony Evers will be canvassing in Madison, La Crosse will be visited by state Democratic party chair Ben Wikler.

The party calls the campaign “1 Year 2 Win.”

Wikler says a study of voting trends shows that Wisconsin could be the state which decides the 2020 race.

The theory is that states for and against President Trump are so evenly divided in electoral votes, whichever side Wisconsin falls on will win the electoral college.
