Trees coming together for canopy

Published

The huge pieces of a new bandshell for Riverside Park are finally coming together.

Moon Tunes organizer Terry Bauer says workers are getting just the right beams for the canopy, to be made primarily from whole trees.

But the public won’t see it put up for another month yet.

Installation of the canopy has to wait until reconstruction of the concrete bandstand is finished, so the canopy might not be done until late September.

Last night’s Moon Tunes concert, as well as all others this summer, was performed on a temporary stage in the park.
