Rep. Ron Kind meets with area dairy farmers near Bangor in April, 2019

Dairy farmers in the Midwest need more help to sell their products.

La Crosse Congressman Ron Kind is introducing a program to keep markets open and provide workers to area farms, called the Dairy Action Plan.

Kind told WIZM that he wants to see more control over dairy prices around the world.

He worries that being unable to sell milk, and other dairy goods, to other countries is forcing prices down and driving farmers out of business.

Under the plan, if dairy farmers have access to more customers, they can do better for themselves.

Back in April, Kind took part in a discussion with area dairy producers at a farm outside Bangor, where they discussed the effects of trade and tariffs on the Wisconsin dairy business.
