La Crosse wound up on the low end of snowfall in the storm that swept through the region this week.

The city received 3.4 inches of snow on Wednesday and Thursday, well below the possible 8 inches that was predicted.

The highest totals of snow were to the north, with the Wabasha area getting 8 or 9 inches.

La Crosse is now ahead of average snowfall for the first week of February, and is almost caught up to the 29 inches we would normally have gotten by this point of the winter.

Total snowfall at this time a year ago was only 21 inches, but another 25 inches fell during March and April.
