The Rochester Paws and Claws Humane Society is seeking donations to help save a couple of puppies infected with a virus.

The group said it already lost one pup because of Parvo. The virus causes infected animals to “rapidly lose fluids from diarrhea and vomiting, and has a high fatality rate,” RPCHS wrote on Facebook.

It posted Sunday on Facebook, “despite our best efforts, we lost a puppy. These puppies were given immunizations as soon as we took them in, but they came to us from a bad start in life — malnourished and infected with mange.

“Despite two vaccinations, their weakened bodies could not fight off this virus. We are doing what it takes to try to treat and save the siblings, but the cost is high. Our ER bill is already over $2,500.”

The group asks for any donation through its Facebook post (there’s a donate button on Facebook) or by clicking here.
