We could see our first significant snow of the season this weekend.

A mix of wintry precipitation is expected to arrive in the La Crosse area over the weekend.

Rain turning to snow is expected from Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

The forecast calls for La Crosse to see one to two inches of snow, but Tomah and Winona could see three to four inches, and Rochester could see six to eight inches.

La Crosse received eight-tenths of an inch of snow on Wednesday, bringing the city’s November snow total to about 2 inches.

A winter storm watch takes effect Saturday morning for southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and western Wisconsin.
