City task force suggests paying an outside consultant on future of La Crosse’s two senior centers

A task force has recommendations on the future of La Crosse’s two senior centers.

Task force chairman Doug Happel thinks his committee has probably finished its work. In February, the task force suggested spending up to $20,000 on an outside consultant on the future of the senior centers.

That idea could come up for a vote at the April city council meeting.

The task force does recommend a merger between the south-side library and the Denton Street center.

As for the Harry J. Olson Center on the north side, the advice is to have it stay in its current location. Or move it to a different building.
