Ron Kind part of record-setting pace for campaign contributions

23 percent of that from individual donors 

Ron Kind is following the national trend.

Democratic candidates around the nation report record-setting campaign contributions, especially in those seats that are held by Republicans, apparently collecting piles of campaign donations.

Few, however, match the fundraising advantage enjoyed by long term incumbents like Kind, Wisconsin’s 3rd District Congressman.

According to the latest filing with the Federal Election Commission, Kind raised $315,000 in just the last three months and nearly $900 thousand just in the first nine months of this year.

The 11-term Democrat, who’s just picked up a challenger for next year’s election, has roughly $2.8 million — only about 23 percent of that comes from individual donors – in an ever-growing campaign war chest.

In his last run for congress, Kind raised roughly $2 million over a two-year period.
