Recycling facility could create over 150 jobs

Scott Walker was in La Crosse County again.

The Wisconsin governor was Onalaska celebrating another business project that will be financed with incentives from the state.

Walker stopped at Dynamic Recycling to promote a $20-million expansion project for the company.

It’s not nearly as big as Foxconn might become, but Dynamic is getting incentives similar to what the Taiwanese company has been promised by Madison.

Dynamic will build a 140,000-square-foot facility with help from $535,000 in tax credits over the next four years through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). The actual amount of credits will be contingent on the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment the company makes during that time.

Dynamic will also receive up to $17 million in Industrial Revenue Bonds (IRBs) to help finance the project, which could create 153 jobs. IRBs provide private borrowers with access to financing at interest rates that are lower than conventional bank loans.

“It’s just a great opportunity to continue to live our mission, continue to help people out, make a difference in our world, create jobs,” Dynamic CEO Miles Harter said.

Construction at Brice Prairie should be completed by June. It should also include new equipment and solar efficiency improvements.

It’s the first expansion for Dynamic since it moved to Onalaska from La Crosse three years ago.

Walker praised the company for continuing to increase its supply of manufacturing jobs.

Dynamic’s facility recycles and reuses items such as IT equipment, consumer electronics, medical equipment and electronic/non-ferrous scrap.

The company most recently expanded in 2014, when it relocated to its current facility in Onalaska. In 2012, it added 20,000 square feet to its old 40,000-square-foot facility in La Crosse, which it outgrew because of increased customer demand for its products.
