July finishes wetter, warmer than usual in La Crosse

Nearly hits Top 10 for rain in city’s history. 

Another wetter-, warmer-than-normal month in La Crosse has come to an end.

Of the 7.5 inches of rain fell in La Crosse this July – 3.5 inches above average – almost all of that came July 19-20.

That’s when severe storms swept through the region, dropping 5 inches of rain.

July has also been a little warmer than usual – 2 degrees above average. La Crosse had five days of 90-degree weather in July.

The 7.5 inches of rain was just short of the Top 10 wettest Julys in La Crosse history.

La Crosse normally gets 4 inches of rain in August. but last year’s weather during that month was wetter than usual.
