Two downtown businesses were badly damaged.

McGREGOR, Iowa — Things are getting back to normal in McGregor, nearly two weeks after a tornado hit.

Electricity has been restored to almost all the buildings, after the July 19 storm ravaged the Mississippi River town.

Two downtown buildings on Main St. got the worst damage.

A two-story tattoo place lost most of its second floor (below) and has since been torn down.

A nearby antique store, which was knocked off its foundation, was the other badly-damaged business.

The McGregor and Marquette Chamber of Commerce says about 75 percent of the town’s businesses were operating last week.
