Lower Northside Depot Neighborhood will get tackled beg. June 3.

The start date for volunteers to tackle home projects on La Crosse’s north side will have to wait another week.

Kahya Fox, at Habitat for Humanity, says heavy rains last weekend means work will begin with the RENEW La Crosse Neighborhoods project June 3.

That, however, will mean one less weekend to do the same amount of work in the Lower Northside and Depot Neighborhood.

“The need for volunteers is great because we’re condensing it into four weekends instead of five,” Fox said.

She’s is looking for volunteers to help with landscaping, gardening, yard clean up, painting and small building projects. High levels of skill is optional.

“I am absolutely positive we’ll be able to help everybody that’s looking for assistance,” she said.
